Employee social contribution activities:Low Vision FutsalThe challenge of being the head coach of the Japanese national team
Takeshi Kanagawa, an employee of our company, is currently serving as the head coach of the Japanese national team for low-vision futsal.
The team participated in the IBSA World Championships held in August in Birmingham, England, and returned home having achieved a top 4 finish, a first for the Japanese team. The IBSA World Championships is an international multi-sport event held every four years by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA). It not only promotes participation in sports for people with disabilities but also contributes to society by respecting individuality and deepening understanding of disabilities and diversity.
Employment initiatives to support athletes' second careers
Our company supports athletes in preparing for their second careers by employing them as full-time staff.
Athletes sometimes face difficulties after their competitive careers end.
Only a very small number of people are involved in the sport, such as coaches, managers, and commentators.
Many people seem to struggle after retiring from their careers, lacking the necessary business skills.
As part of addressing the issue of athletes' second careers, Fugador Sumida actively recruits current and former players.
They are playing a vital role as an important asset to our team.
Community service activities: Support and interaction with children's welfare facilities
Our company, founded in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, has been contributing to the local community by annually presenting a trip to Disneyland to the residents of the Kawasaki Aijien Children's Home since 2013.
Children's homes are facilities that protect and support children whose parents are unable to raise them for any reason. We sincerely hope for the healthy growth of these children and support them in having enjoyable experiences.
